Boccadasse
During my September 2025 trip to Italy, I wanted visit a beach on the eastern side of Genoa called Boccadasse. The beach features a group of pastel buildings climbing up from the water, encircling a small cove. It’s a view reminiscent of the Cinque Terre. I was staying nearby in Nervi, just a few stops away by train. I hopped on a train to Genoa, getting off at the Sturla stop and walking the twenty minutes or so to Boccadasse.
When I arrived, I could see why this was such a popular place — it was quite beautiful! It was warm and people were enjoying the beach and sea. I walked around and shot photos from several angles, including up some stairs at a small plaza. I decided to use one of my film cameras, figuring the warm tones of Kodak Gold would look good here.
Here’s a view of a couple of locals enjoying the sun and sea:
Here’s the view from the plaza which was up a few flights of stairs alongside a church. I was sort of surprised to see all the small boats covered, I’d have guessed there was plenty of summer left to enjoy them:

When I was done taking photos, I headed back to the train station and back to Nervi. This was a fun little trip, and I was happy to check it off my list.
