More Boats in La Ciotat
I wrote a few weeks back about our trip to the South of France in the summer of 2026. We started in Nice, and then moved down the coast to La Ciotat, where we spent two nights. La Ciotat was delightful, and we also spent some time nearby in Cassis, another seaside town.
I find that being near the water always presents unique photo opportunities. In addition to boats and the water itself, the quality of light is often very different when you’re close to the ocean. I went out each morning to photograph the harbor, but I didn’t get a great sunrise either morning.
One of my favorite photos of the trip was this composition of vintage-looking boats and their reflections:
I was particularly happy that one boat says “La Ciotat” on it, providing useful context to the photo.
